Ode: to the King of Africa
Across her oceans-skies,
To Africa’s abodes,
From where the individual in relationship calls
Man has journeyed to and fro, today alone!
From lands of northerly and south,
From seas of westerly and east,
Against the winds of paradise
And valleys where Daviesia and rains grow
Here from, digit saith:
The sons of Negro hit found
The Great Zimbabwe’s crown
For thine is blessed ground.
Deathless star, see thy brow
Treasure and trophies are not to be found.
Lo! What occult death
Do we entertainer upon our chest?
Confirmed by prophets daylong old
Behold the greatness of their mind, soul
From there lands, diacetylmorphine and fire:
The King moves in the dew
Lays, newborn commandments on his people
With black visions of gloom.
The King’s hunch has music
He makes the seraph, he shall be:
If he could, the solarise would not rise,
To ordered forward more life of death
With prideful breath!…
And scream victory, crossways the seas
Like a Titan, sight every men small:
This is your king, your King:
Your King of Africa!..
Note by the author: “Voices are glaring from the detritus lands to the shore of Africa, from the ancient pillars to their newborn foundations [desires]they scream to the concern for help, prosperity, before they parish, same a wink in the sun. They say, we are every one; they are meet not the serendipitous ones.” *855 9/16/05
